So i planned to sleep early and wake at midnight to watch the live redcarpet arrivals at the Oscars. I overslept  though, and woke up about 30mins into the show. The funny thing is when i woke up i somehow assumed it was morning like morning 5am i was sad and then i looked at my clock and it was just 12:30am. How cool!

Anyway these were my favourites looks in no particular order.

Viola Davis in Vera Wang. Absolutely stunning and her body is just sick. Look at her arms. She's like the queen of 'toned' now. Not like Angela Basset would be happy about that. Lol

Its no doubt that when it comes to red carpet appearances Anjelina Jolie is like the queen bee. Funny that everyone kept waiting for Angelina to show up wondering what she'll wear, etc. She arrived late and this was not quite what most people were expecting but i like that she kept it fun and sexy. its almost playful. She's gorgeous.

Gwyneth Paltrow in a very Oscar worthy Tom Ford piece. Annnnd this is how you wear a cape on the red carpet. Stunning!

Rooney Mara in Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci. I really love her hair. And the red lip with the white dress is winning.

Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera

Jennifer Lopez looking just divine in Zuhair Murad. That body! That's all i can say.

Kristen Wig in J Mendel. The colour of the dress does it for me. Love the Hair too. Its like Angelina's a little casual for the Oscars but i love it anyway.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. She's won this Label all through this awards season and like most people i never heard of the label till now.
Incase you are wondering, No its not African .Lol. Its by very well known, Japanese born and American based designer Tadashi Shoji who's had his career for ages and who as a student designer in the 70's, clothed the likes of Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, The Jacksons, and Earth, Wind, & Fire. And in recent times, Shakira, Tyra Banks, Deborah Messing, Emmy Rossum, Kate Walsh, and Sara Ramirez and of course Octavia. We learn everyday right? I love his designs

And finally Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka.
Amazing Shoulder detail. Love the embellishment too.
I wonder why everyone has been on about her hair. I happen to love the colour. She's lost so much weight these past few years and she's looking her best. I think she could be my celeb crush. I like her.

Did you watch the show? What do you think of the dresses? Who was your best or worst dressed? Mine is a tie between Viola Davis, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kelly Osbourne. I dont know. I cant pick one. Lol

Elsie Vintage is a monthly blog sale selling trendy vintage pieces every last Saturday of the month. Created by Fashion blogger and Stylist, Onyinye Fafi obi whose love for all things vintage inspired her into selling affordable vintage pieces.

The store is named after her alter ego,Elsie who derives joy in getting the best affordable vintage clothes she can find. The joy and uniqueness she gets from rocking a "one-of-a-kind" vintage piece is priceless.

As we all know, vintage is a great way to recycle and look distinct, without being scared of appearing in the same piece being worn by another person.  It is also environmentally conscious because wearing vintage clothes reduces waste. The vintage pieces to be sold range from Blouses, trendy print skirts and Dresses. it is only available for people living in lagos and Abuja.

All vintage pieces purchased from Elsie Vintage is in good and pristine condition. Since vintage pieces have been worn in an era before, do expect lil' signs of wear.

Finally Arise fashion week is upon us. Its barely 2 weeks now. Yesterday, Federal Palace hotel in Lagos was a bee-hive of activities. It was the screening of Stylists, models, hair and make up for the show. This year its 77 designers showing so you can imagine the crowd of creatives all over the place.

I managed somehow to get through my 1st stage of interview early enough after which i was told i still had to wait. A very long wait for that matter. It continues tomorrow. However it was fun waiting though, Like some sort of reunion party. Everyone you've worked with was around somewhere and lots of healthy fashion discourse.

I went with a friend who kept me company through the wait. After some time she promised me she was going back on her' shake-off' diet because of all the skinny models walking around. lol

Afterwards, we met up with another friend and went Kart Racing at GET Arena. There was this Arab lady that dusted all three of us. Lets just say the beef we now have for her is real. Will be on the look out for her when next i go i have to show her back.

This is what i wore. Photo was taken with my very poor cell phone camera as i hardly ever go out with my camera. i intend to fix that soon.

At my last shoot. i managed to get some alone time with the model. she's got quite a strong personality and she's really stylish off duty too. Enjoy

NAME- Otanwa Felicia

AGENCY- Isis Models

WHY MODELING? - I love the feeling I get when I’m on the runway. The power to bring the clothes to live as a result of my walk, poses, etc. And of course all eyes are on me doing my thing you know... It all gives me joy.

BEST JOB- The Genevieve show honouring the First lady of Lagos for her contribution to breast cancer awareness and women empowerment in Lagos. It was one hell of a show.

WORST JOB - Can’t tell. Lol

FAVOURITE DESIGNER(S) -  Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and Ituen Basi.

WORST OUTFIT DISASTER - Never had one. I plan my outfits at least 2days ahead.

BRAIDS OR WEAVES - Weaves.  As a model you may be required to change your hairstyle at the shortest notice. You can’t do that with braids.

MUST-HAVE MAKEUP ITEM - There’s no makeup item I can’t do without.

BEAUTY REGIMEN-   I don’t really have a beauty regimen written on stone. I‘ve found that all I really need is Soap and water.  I wash my face and body and  I moisturize as well.

WORST FASHION FAUX PAS- Leather in this Nigerian heat

DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE - Simple but chic.

Hi ya,

So i styled and directed my first solo editorial just recently. I've worked on lots of shoots but this was different. In this case i had to plan everything alone from scratch. From coming up with a theme, the mood-board, sourcing for a location, finding a professional model, makeup artist and photographer , logistics, budget and everything that may or may not make you wanna pull out your hair.

I had help later along the way and on the day of the shoot via two interns. One of them actually said to me at some point. "Ifeoma this is work o. ha". Lol.  Fashion styling is fun o. If you really love it you wont mind the stress but the truth is that its not all fun and games. There's a reason why you open some magazines and it all just looks like perfection. Its because someone somewhere made a lot of effort. So you keep striving.

Hot shot photographer, Kayode Martins of Xsightn Photography. Getting him to come on board the shoot was not beans i tell you. See more of his work  here

Chinwe. she assisted me on the shoot

That's Chinelo. Also assisted me on the shoot.

Model Felicia

Makeup artist Kaaka

It was an exciting shoot. Had fun with everyone on the set. I cant say anything further for now except that i can't wait to see the final photos.

P.S- I wonder why most times when i'm working on a shoot the photographer tries to get me to put makeup on and pose for shots. I always have to say. No i don't pose for shots. I create them. At Ikechukwu's Bulie Oto video shoot with Chalya Shagaya, i literally had to fight off the photographer at some point. Lol.

Anita Chialuka Onyechi is the creative mind behind Divalukky. I remember we met under the craziest of situations.  During the Hip hop world awards i was asked by the head stylist to style the Hostesses. Hip hop world people don't joke and i had 20 girls in all to take care of.  We ended up not working together, as the Head stylist decided to go with another designer. However we kept in touch. She's an amazing designer and hardworking too. The label is barely a year old.  I see so much potential and i honestly would love to work with her sometime soon.

Here's her Valentine themed collection. Check on it :)

Divalukky Clothing Line is a young and fast-growing fashion line blending a contemporary mix of very stylish yet affordable dresses, skirts, trousers, amongst other forms of female clothing as well as various accessories.

Since inception in 2011, collections of Divalukky Clothing Line have been showcased in fashion shows including the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2011 Mini-Fashion Show, Project Red Fashion Show for AIDS, and Fashion Night Out.
