TOMBOY CHIC

Hi Ya,

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Mine has been a cross between hectic and easy. Last week was hecticdotcom. Catching a little break at the moment and decided to blog.

I've always admired guys for having it so easy. Tshirt, shorts, jeans and off they go. Lately I've been inspired by comfort so much and i find loose fitted plain white tees very comfy. Round necks, V necks... I'm in!

I  wore this to work on Monday. I've been waiting to wear this bf jeans for a while. Now that i have i think i want to turn it into a distressed style for a different look. What do you think?

I doubt i could ever do tomboy all the way though. I have too much chic in my head to have added a pair of oxfords this look. So yeah some heels.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

FUN DAY AT GREY VELVET

The Lagos weather in recent times  can only be described with one word. HOT! I even got a text from some boutique asking me to come shop for clothes to beat the heat. True Story. So imagine my joy when on the way to the Grey Velvet launch this past weekend, it started to rain so heavily like Mother Nature knew we needed to cool down.

It was a very fun event  at the Ikeja City mall. Hadn’t been there since it opened so I was glad to go especially as it also doubled as an opportunity to hang with my bff.  It was very inspiring being in the company of so many beautiful people. How can you not be inspired by fashion? Its so cool how women in Nigeria love to dress up.

Grey Velvet is essentially a retail store. They carry about 15 designers at the moment . There’s Republic of Foreigner, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Dehadza, Remi Lagos, Bebe Grafiti, RN Jewelz, Virtue Clothiers, House of Farrah, DOT, Nick and Grace, Isi Brown, Xclamations, Design for Love, T.T Dalk, Kiki Kamanu and a couple of others are expected to join them

Excuse the blurred image. i do not laud my photo skills

 Cute shoes from Dehadza.

Had the chance to run into a stylist who’s work I admire. Tayo Shonekan.  She’s such a pleasant lady and we had some very meaningful convo. That’s her handbag in this photo. Love the fringe detail.

I also met Ono Bello, whose PR company was in charge of the event. During the event they had models walk around in some of the designer pieces and for a second I wanted to rush back stage and be immersed in the chaos. Lol

Ono is so tall she had to go down abt 10ft in order not to dwarf the hell out of us.

Fola and I fell in love with this cropped blouse from Ejiro’s line and decided to get them in different colours. Can’t wait to take mine out.

Afterwards  we decided to look around the mall. I especially wanted to see Mr Price as I’ve heard so many nice things about the place and blogged about it before.

I fell in love with this earth toned lace skirt. It was so lovely, I didn’t wanna take it off and put my pants back on. The thought of it sitting in my wardrobe right now gives me joy.

They've also got lovely accessories. Found this cocktail ring with the Fuschia thing going on.

Here's a better view of the Ejiro Amos Tafiri blouse

BIG NEWS!

Hi Everyone,

So sorry i havent posted in a while. I've just been so busy. Yes like the title says i've got some pretty interesting news to share. Your's truly is now on Team Genevieve. I've always wanted a magazine gig and i can't tell you how happy i was when i got recommended to join The Genevieve style team.

Basically my job invoves working with the Fashion Editor Ohimai Atafo as well as more senior Stylist Veronica Ebie Odeka to put together the style section of the magazine every month as well as the cover and a few other pages from time to time. I'm quite very elated and i hope to do my best and  just erm.... roll with.

Its been quite busy for me as i have to create time also to do some of my styling and work full time on my job. Driving from satellite town to the Island daily is a story for another day. But i'm not complaining at all. I love a good challenge. My job is so much fun and i can't be happier. I feel very blessed. *giggles*.

Part of my job also requires me to attend events which the magazine gets invited to. This was taken two Sundays ago at the Africa Movie Academy Awards AMAA

Had to bring my 32 out when i saw Isiah Washingthon aka Preston Burke the original Cardio god and only man suitable for Christina Yang. Grey's Anatomy heads will understand this.  God knows i was star struck!! Absolutely No Shame. Funny thing is i was gonna tweet this in the moment and my phone died on me. who's cool idea was it to invent Blackberries with low battery life?

With Eku Edewor of Studio 53 extra. She's such a beauty. I used to work with her personal stylist and there was this one time we were getting her ready for an event. i kept brushing her her hair and her stylist joked that i was brushing her hair like she was my doll. I agree. lol.

With Veronica and Ohimai

PS- Genevieve has also relaunched its online platform and in the words of Veronica. The content is juicy!. Exclusive interviews,Photos, behind the scenes from shoots, style tips, and more. See the site HERE
